Led by Gengar, legendary icons like Meowth, Cubone, and Azula appear in previously unseen illustrations. A special highlight are the various holographic effects, featuring energy symbols, Poké Ball patterns, and stars. Some of these effects have previously been used exclusively in this series.
The cards have rarity symbols with ●, ◆, ★, ★★, and ★★★. These differ from the  usual symbols  on Asian cards.
